Ward was born at MonroeLouisianaon 14 April1976. She attended a private Christian primary school, called Monroe Christian School. In secondary educationWard attended Ouachita Parish High School, but she moved in River Oaks High School on the last day of her junior year; thereshe was on the dance and drill teams. Following her graduation, she was a student at Northeast Louisiana University. Ward dropped out at thirteen and relocated into New York so that she was able to begin modeling. Then she was offered a brief role in NBC's prime-time teen drama Malibu Shores. Her role was Meg Cummings, a virgin in Sunset Beach in 1996. The year 1999 saw Ward begin her movie career as Brittany Foster, the psychotic Brittany Foster of the erotic film The In Crowd. It was a theatrical unsuccessful, however it enjoyed an initial success on the cable market and on DVD. The following year Ward played a supporting role in the hit movie Shallow Hal.
