Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Her work has been recognized for TV and film from the mid-80s onwards, she has received various accolades including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and raised by an aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. The mother of Bassett had divorced from her father at approximately five. Bassett and her younger sister later relocated from the city of St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school when she saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of being an actor had come true. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut receiving a bachelor's degree (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American study) in the year 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett is currently working in one of the lead characters in the film Ramonda in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
