Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to make music as a means of the sake of personal development, and not for the purpose of making money or for as a hobby. In the end, she started writing her own music. Her inspirations include famous writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music in front of the public, but not to be famous, but in order to show others how important they are and what they can do for the world. Piano was her first instrument at the age of six. She began making music at the age of nine. The family did not know until the age of fourteen. The dream was never to turn into Aurora. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. According to her, the music she writes is her way of feeling anything.
